Rulling On Covering Up For Someone Who Committed Sinالستر علي شخص ارتكب ذنب

What is the ruling on one who finds out that someone is persisting in committing a sin ,and he covers up for him and is content just to advise him in the hope that he will be guided aright ,is he sinning because he hasn't informed the relevant authorities about him?

 

 

Praise be to Allah.

It's permissible to cover up for him if he is not one of those who take the matter of sin lightly and he isn't known to commit alot of sins or to commit prohibited actions.

 

 

In this case ,he should advise him,tell him to fear Allah and warn him against doing it again.

 

 

 

But if he is a person who regularly commits sin and evil deeds,then the one who finds out about it will not have discharged his duty until he refers the matter to someone who can punish him in a way that will deter him from persisting in it.

 

 

 

If the sin affects the rights of another person ,such as if he sees him stealing from someone's house or shop,or he seeshim committing adultery with the wife of SO andSO, then it isn't permissible for him to cover up for him, because that is a transgression against the rights of another person ,it affects that person's marriage

and is a betrayal of another muslim.

 

 

 

Similarly,if he finds out that he killed or injured a muslim ,he shoud not cover up for him and cause the rights of a fellow muslim to be neglected ;rather he should testify against him to the relevant authorities,so that matter may be dealt with.

السؤال:

ما هو الحكم في من اكتشف شخص مصر علي ارتكاب ذنب وهو يستر عليه ومقتنع فقط بان ينصحه علي امل ان ينصلح حاله هل هو يرتكب ذنب لانه لم يبلغ السلطات المعنية عنه؟

الجواب:

الحمد لله وبعد:

يجوز ان يستر عليه لو لم يكن شخص معروف عنه ارتكاب الكثير من الذنوب والافعال المحرمة.

-في هذه الحالة يجب عليه ان ينصحه بتقوي الله ويحذره من تكرار ما ارتكب.

 

 

لكن ان كان شخص معتاد الذنوب والافعال الشريرة فإن الشخص الذي اكتشف فعلته لن يقوم بواجبه الا اذا رفع الامر الي شخص يمكنه معاقبته بطريقة يمكن ان تردعه عن الاصرار علي هذا الذنب.

 

 

واذا كان الذنب يؤثر علي حقوق شخص اخر كأن يراه وهو يسرق منزل او متجر احد او ان يراه يرتكب الفاحشة مع زوجة فلان او فلان ففي هذه الحالة من غير الجائز ان يستر عليه لان ذلك اعتداء علي حقوق شخص آخر فهو يؤثر علي زواج ذلك الشخص وخيانة لمسلم آخر.

 

 

 

وبالمثل اذا اكتشف انه قتل او اصاب مسلم فلا يجب ان يستر عليه ويتسبب في ضياع حقوق اخ مسلم .

بدلا من ذلك يجب ان يشهد ضده عند السلطات المعنية حتي يتم التعامل مع الأمر.
